Arrival in Melbourne

The WestiAmp has arrived inMelbourne intact (well, in pieces - but importantly, in no more pieces than it left). It's currently hiding behind a pile of boxes in our spare room (soon to be study / library).

I have emailed the good people at S-5 Electronics, and they've responded to say they do ship to Australia, and that shipping of the valve amplifier kit I need for the WestiAmp will cost an extra $55. So, next pay, it's mine :-)

Hello...you left a comment on my Aviation Journal on Aug. 15th...I didn't know if you would get this if I left a comment on my blog, so I came to your blog. That's great you're learning to fly a Sportstar. My brother is a programmer (and a follower of Linux) like my dad, and he's learning to fly a Piper Cub right now.

Your project on the WestiAmp sounds interesting. I noticed you've been working on it for quite some time now. Good luck on the project and all the best on getting those wings!

Hi Lizzy,

Thanks :-) Progress has been a bit slow since I broke one of the club's Sportstars but I'm hopefully going to be flying with the club's CFI soon, after which progress towards my PPL will resume.

Yeah, the Westiamp project has been somewhat slow to proceed :-) Hopefully it'll gain momentum when the amplifier kit arrives ...
