The Westiamp amplifier is live!

The Westiamp amplifier (an S5 8LM) is now live! It's mounted to the pine board on which it'll live when installed in the case, and hooked up to a test speaker and my Creative Zen MP3 player as an audio source. A day's hard work - for both me and my wife who assisted with the construction - and it's done.

Now I'm looking around for a USB kit to interface the track and playlist skip switches with the PC that'll end up driving it.

Fantastic! Don't forget ventilation for the vacuum tubes.
I think it would be quite cool if the vacuum tubes were visible from the outside with a glass cover, with all the other electronics hidden away, and perhaps backlit with several of those computer CPU fans that have several colored LED lights in them, or a few rotating cds, prisms, aurora crystals, diffraction gratings, lazer LEDs and a mini smoke machine or deep freezer for some dry ice with automatic dispenser, but thats probably looking more like disco nightclub in a juke box window. Just a thought, you probably don't want to distract too much from the music.

Don't we get to see it all put together with the case?

Eventually ... I'm still putting together the bits for the PC that will run it, so it hasn't actually been assembled in the case yet.

This is a long term project ... :-)

That was really great for all the students who want it to apply on their thesis. Headrest DVD Player

Really great but much better if you can show us the whole scene of assembling into the case or housing of it.
